RE: batteries in the winter
Turn off your battety disconnect and just leave the batteries in the MH. No nred for a charger as there is no discharge. If they won't hold a charge all winter disconnected they need replacing.
I consider this to be incorrect information as they can loose up to 5% charge per month.
Big temperature shift from South Louisiana and Michigan this time of year. Temperature affects how fast a battery discharges, faster in warm weather, slower in cold weather. My boat sits in Michigan from Oct. to April with the battery sitting in it just disconnected, never a problem.

RE: How do you decide how much to spend on an RV
I also go with the if we can't pay cash, we don't buy. But we also take the time to look at what spending less would get you and if it isn't giving you the same good feeling, why settle for what isn't your first choice. We also say, well we are not getting any younger, and have no kids. So anything we have left when the time comes goes to charities. Why let them go first class and not us? We/you are the ones who worked and saved for the ability to buy what will make you happy. I say go for it...

RE: Ford files trademark for F200 pickup.
Lots of people complaining about automobiles being foisted on the poor horse owners and putting blacksmiths out of business here. I think TurnThePage’s post was dead on. Maybe it’s time to put the politics away on this forum and get back to camping
I agree! There is just too much division on this EV topic for it to even show up on a rv forum where most are using gas/diesel to enjoy their camping adventures. Until it's an actual viable option, I don't see the point in the discussion.

RE: Ford files trademark for F200 pickup.
I will say this.... I left my career of 40+ years for several reasons, non of which have to do with camping... I started a non stress job working for a friend that owns a chain of Auto dealerships.. 2 Mazda, 2 Subaru, and 7 Ford...
I am a driver and move vehicles form dealership to dealership, make new vehicle deliveries, so on...
My ( Long winded ) point is, I have gotten to drive some pretty cool vehicles, and 1 is the Lightening ... That truck is a nice ride ! ! Will I own one NO... But they are very comfortable and a great handling truck...
They have a place here, not my place, not many on here's place, but SOME people want them...
Whoever wants an EV can buy one. The problem is the people who don't want them are being pushed in that direction. "We will end fossil fuels" and shutting down fossil fuel production does not sound like people having much of a choice.

RE: Ford files trademark for F200 pickup.
I guess the real question is - is Ford doing this based on what they thought organic capitalistic demand is, or under government duress and funding to insulate from failure? If you throw enough money at something you can make it work, but is it really what consumers want? The net result is, it doesn't matter. Because whether you buy these vehicles or not, as a taxpayer you're still footing the bill either way- success or failure. But consumer demand is not the driving force behind this effort. Good thing the government knows what I need so I don't have to think about it.

RE: switching to two 6 volt batteries?
I'm about to replace my two AF1150 batteries. They're currently Interstate Deep Cycle 12 volts wired in parallel.
I'm thinking of going with two 6Volt golf cart batteries. Sam's sells the Duracell EGC2 for 150 bucks. Specs:
20 amp hour rate: 230
5 amp hour rate:174
Battery electrolyte composition: acid
Battery end type: top post
Battery purpose: deep cycle
BCI group size: GC2
Freight class: 65
Minutes at 25 amps: 448
Minutes at 75 amps: 120
Terminal type: DIN
Volts: six
I was thinking that with the 2 two wired in series, I'd be better off on the Amp Hour rating. Any opinions?
Thanks as always
Good choice. Mine are going on 7 years now and seem to be as good as when I bought them.
It’s not a good choice because they won’t fit in his camper….doesn’t matter if they last 20 years….if they’re sitting at home.
Never said they would fit, only that they are good batteries. I assume he knows how to read dimensions and use a tape measure. :R

RE: Extended-range tank for Chevy 2500HD gas
I don't know all the specifics, but the reason for 36 gallon tank and nothing larger has to do with Vapor emissions regulations, it gets pretty expensive to get them certified.

RE: Generator dB rating
I find the dB ratings to be misleading, not useless. Some sounds within a rating can be more annoying. Then "quiet" generator is relative, A quiet Honda generator is quiet compared to an open frame construction generator. But hardly quiet.
What I speak of is that.... You can carry on a conversation around the Honda ones.Good luck doing that to a Champion.
That's funny and doubtful.
Honda 2000 - 57db
Champion 2000- 53 db
How can the Honda be quieter with a higher db rating?
Honda @ rated load is 57, 1/4 load is 53. Champion only claims 53, probably 1/4 load but don't give @ rated load db.

RE: Windows Media Player problems
